Our Tourism

The Marinduque Tourism Association, Inc. provides leadership, direction, and substance to the operations of tourism in the province. It assist the government and its stakeholders to “ensure the preparation and implementation of a tourism development plan, the enforcement of standards, the collection of statistical data for tourism purposes, and monitor the enforcement of tourism laws and regulations, such as, but not limited to, the Tourism Development Code of Marinduque.

Culture

Marinduque is rich in history and cultural background which makes it an excellent travel destination. Truly, their deeply held beliefs, core values and distinctive practices are the things that set the Marinduquenos apart from the others.

Agri-Tourism

The Marinduque Wild Life Sanctuary features two blocks of forests in Central Marinduque that span about 9,000 hectares including the towns of Boac, Gasan, Buenavista, Torrijos, and Sta. Cruz.

Museum

A historic Filipino Architecture during Spanish occupation that formerly held Boac, Marinduque’s Municipal Trial Court, Municipal Hall, Detention Building and library now serve as home to the Marinduque Branch Museum.

The Moriones is an annual lenten activity held on Holy Week in the island of Marinduque, Philippines. The "Moriones" are men and women in costumes and masks replicating the garb of biblical Roman soldiers as interpreted by local folk. The Moriones or Moryonan tradition has inspired the creation of other festivals in the Philippines where cultural practices or folk history are turned into street festivals.
